Memoirs in Negros

A few years ago, I was assigned in Negros Oriental by one of my previous companies as Project HR Officer. I stayed there for two years and I have fond memories in that province.

Dumaguete City is the capital of Negros Oriental. If Cebu City is “Queen City of the South”, Dumaguete is the “City of Gentle People”. It is an urbanized city yet I can say laid back. Negros is blessed with destinations worth going to and I have been to a few of them. You may wonder “Heck why post after n years about Negros Oriental?”. Let me tell you something which transpired to me this morning. I was browsing through my photos in my Instagram account and came across my escapades in NegOr. Such a beauty, such amazing experiences, places and people. I would never forget those unexpected getaways in Dauin which is around 20 minutes away from Dumaguete City. I would also not forget riding in a single motorcycle with my former work colleagues in going places because we just love adventure. With a brave heart, I went caving by myself (I had a tour guide though). Countless memories and to add up those late night inuman sessions and videoke nights (lol!). I miss those times in the city I love the most.

The first time I set foot on Dumaguete was when I was in college. My two uncles live there that’s why I got the chance to go there. The moment I laid my eyes on it, I fell in love with Dumaguete.

Took Masters Degree in Silliman but I was not able to finish it. Even if I have not finished it, I met great people whom I became close with. 🙂

If you are the type of person who loves karaoke, Watever is the perfect place to be. It’s just along the boulevard adjacent Silliman.

I’m trying to look for more photos but for some reason, I could not find them any more.=( If you get the chance to go to Dumaguete for a vacation, visit Rizal Boulevard, try their tempura, go on food tripping (there are a lot of restos in the city) and go to Apo Island (haven’t been there unfortunately).

There are more destinations to go to in NegOr, just keep on exploring. 😀
